THE ORIGINS OF OUR COMPANY NAME

Many years ago our company was known as Fairey Aviation . With many claims to fame and a long history of innovation and design within the Aviation world , the company eventually became known as Fariey Hydraulics Ltd .

In 1999 Fairey Group sold it’s aviation interests , as is now well known ,the management team bought Fairey Hydraulics Ltd . This change of ownership necessitated a new name .

We are very proud of our site and it’s history – so to use the village where we live as our new company name gave us a degree of local pride - Claverham Limited
was born ! Despite best endeavours , industry recognition of a new name is at best slow , many customers and suppliers knew us as Fairey , and so to recognise this we retained the use of the initials FHL for our primary division .

Early 2001 , Claverham Ltd was sold to Hamilton Sundstrand , a division of United Technologies . Since then we have been integrating with our new owners . The time has now come to drop the links with the past and hence FHL .

From January 2004 , the company is now singularly Claverham Limited . Differentiation within the company has ceased – save for our Industrial Actuation Division – which serves a wholly separate market and therefore retains it’s unique identity.

Whilst the name changes , the culture , core values and vision remain the same – that is to be the best , to focus on customer , suppliers and shareholders and to leverage the talents of our remarkable workforce .

With the change in name comes a closer working relationship that should enable Hamilton Sundstrand and UTC to provide a greater market to you and thereby to enjoy the best services .
