Concept Parallel Duplex Redundant EM Actuator.

Claverham is supporting the UK sponsored technology demonstation programme, targeted at the future generation of large transport aircraft.

In this EMA concept, simplex actuators are mounuted in parallel pairs to provide redundancy at the surface. Additional pairs can be added to provide the level of availability required of the control surface. As a system, the approach is designed to accomodate actuator hard-over conditions (uncommanded motion) or jamming.
